nouvelles de teheran, news from tehran

je suis toujours à teheran.
en ce moment je suis dans la maison de kamal, un cycliste iranien rencontré en ville jeudi dans la soirée.
i'm still in tehran.
at the moment i am staying in the house of kamal, an iranian cyclist met in tehran on thursday evening.

j'ai pu demander mon visa ouzbek jeudi après-midi.
j'ai eu de la chance car comme je ne trouverai pas l'ambassade, j'ai demandé à beaucoup de gens et dans beaucoup de magasins dans la rue où l'ambassade été censé être et finalement j'ai rencontré reza dans une librairie, il parlait bien anglais et il m'a aidé à la trouver.
nous avons été à son bureau, il est allé voir sur internet et a alors téléphoné à l'ambassade et obtenu une meilleure adresse que celle que j'avais avant.
l'homme travaillant là-bas nous a dit qu'ils étaient fermés jusqu'à lundi, mais cela je pourrait aller demander mon visa si je venais tout de suite.
i could apply for my uzbek visa on thursday afternoon.
i was lucky because as i coulnd find the embassy, i asked to many people and in many shops in the road where the embassy was supposed to be and finally i met reza in a bookshop, he was speaking english good and he helped me to find it.
we've been to his office, had a look on the internet and then he phoned to the ambassy and got a better adress than the one i got before.
the man working there said it was closed until monday, but that i could go to apply for my visa if i came right now.

j'y suis donc allé. c'était assez loin et la route montait sur tout le trajet. avec le trafic et mes bagages ça n'était pas vraiment facile !
j'ai encore demandé à quelques personnes et finalement trouvé l'endroit.
then i got there. it was quite far away and the road was going up all the way. with the traffic and my luggage it wasn't really easy!
i asked again to some people and finally find the place.

l'homme travaillant là était très aimable et m'a bien aidé : pour ma demande de visa j'ai eu besoin de photocopies de mon passeport, deux formulaires de demande dactylographiés, deux photos, une lettre d'introduction de l'ambassade française et de payer 85 dollars us.
heureusement j'avais les photos et il a accepté de remplir formulaires de demande sur son ordinateur et de faire les photocopies pour 20.000 rials (1.60 euros, quoi qu'il en soit j'aurais payé le même prix dans n'importe quel magasin).
the man working there was very kind and helpful:
to apply for a visa i needed photocopies of my passport, two application forms typed, two photos ,an introduction letter from the french ambassy in tehran and to pay 85 us dollars.
luckily i had the photos and he accepted to fill the applications forms on his computer and make the photocopies for 20.000 rials (1,60 euro, anyway i would have paid the same price in any shop).

comme je n'avais pas la lettre d'introduction, il a dit qu'il enverrait les formulaires de demande à taskent (le capital d'Ouzbékistan) et mettrait un message indiquant que j'avais déjà la lettre d'introduction. (je n'ai jamais vu une telle bonté dans l'administration !)
il a également dit que je pourrais payer le jour où j'obtiendrais le visa, et si je n'avais pas des dollars, je pourrais payer en rials.
as i didn't have the introduction letter, he said that he would send the applications forms to taskent (the uzbek capital) and put a message with them saying that i had already the introduction letter. (i never seen such kindness in administration!)
he also said that i could pay on the day i would get the visa stamps, and if i didn't have dollars, i would be able to pay in rials.

donc maintenant je dois seulement attendre 4-5 jours pour téléphoner à l'ambassade ouzbek pour demander si mon visa est prêt et pour aller recevoir ma lettre d'introduction a l'ambassade française (heureusement elle est ouverte le dimanche matins et est au centre de la ville).
so now i only have to wait 4-5 days to phone to the uzbek ambassy to ask if my visa is ready and go to get my introdution letter in the french ambassy (luckily it is open on sundays mornings and is in the center of the city).

après avoir obtenu mon visa ouzbek, je pourrai demander le visa de transit turkmène et quand j'obtiendrai celui-ci je pourrai quitter teheran.
after i'll have my uzbek visa, i will be able to ask for my turkmen transit visa and when i'll get this one i will be able to leave tehran.

oh... je dois aussi aller au bureau de l'immigration pour obtenir une prolongation de mon visa et ainsi atteindre le turkmenistan...
j'espère qu'ils seront gentils avec moi et me donneront le temps nécessaire pour sortir de l'Iran en vélo, parce que je lis sur l'Internet qu'ils donnent habituellement une prolongation de seulement 3-4 jours!
et j'ai besoin d'une prolongation de 2 semaines...
l'autre problème est qu'on ne peux obtenir des prolongations seulement dans quelques grandes villes, et je pense que le teheran est la dernière sur ma route jusqu'au turkmenistan. de toutes façons... je verrai ça la semaine prochaine !
oh... and i also need to go to the immigration office to get an extension of my visa so i can reach turmenistan...
i hope they will be nice with me and give me the time neccessary to get out of iran by bike, because i read on internet that they usually give only 3-4 days extension! and i need a 2 weeks extension...
another problem is i can get extensions only in some big cities, and i think that tehran is the last one on my road to turkmenistan.
anyway... i'll see this next week!

avant, en dépit de quelques petits problèmes, je pouvais toujours continuer mon voyage. j'espère que ça continuera comme ça!
je ne m'inquiète pas à beaucoup à ce sujet, je connais quelques habitants de teheran qui peuvent m'aider à parler à l'administration et j'ai également lu qu'un cycliste avait obtenu une prolongation de 3 semaines.
before, despite some little problems, i was always able to continue my trip. i hope it will continue like this!
i don't worry to much about this, i know some inhabitants of tehran that can help me to talk to immigration administation and i also read that a cyclist got a 3 weeks extension.

je suis a Erzurum... j'ai donc quelques
(2/3) semaines de retards sur toi. en tout
cas j'aı suivis jusqu a present la meme
route (depuis ıstanbul). je dois entrer
au turkmenistan vers le 1er octobre).
