i've been to the iranian consulate yesterday: they said me to phone again the istanbul's embassy to send them my application forms by fax.
so i phoned: in istanbul they said me they would send fax by the afternoon.
all right!

bien !

so i came back in the afternoon to get my visa stamps... but erzurum didn't got the fax!
then they said to me: fill these two applications forms, give two photos... then i was really afraid: i thought i would have to do all the application process again and then i would have to stay in erzurum 2 more weeks!
actually not: i asked the employee, he said I could get my visa in a few hours… but… tomorrow! it was closing time…

as i had email contacts with jeff james, the australian cyclist met in istanbul, i knew in which hotel he was so i've been there to meet him.
he is staying in erzurum waiting for tires he has ordered to a bicycle shop in istanbul (he wants to roll only on the best tires in the world, ones that are designed to never get a flat, but wants to get them in turkey by a turkish shop... not very clever according to me! but it's his choice)
he also don't want to enter iran yet because he wants to avoid moosoon in india.

he indicated me a cheap hotel that he doesn't want to stay in and i found it was good for me: single room with tv, toilet and shower outside, quite clean for only 10 turkish lira.
i've said: ucuz, ucuz! (cheap, cheap!) and i could get discount from 15 to 10 lira.
jeff only got discount to 12 lira and he said he would stay 2 weeks! i just said i would stay more than one night...

i suppose it's because he was speaking only english, sometimes saying hello in the foreign language and trying to speak little words of this language is a good way to introduce itself!
like this i found a good place to rest for two days as i am still little tired because of my antibiotic treatment of last week.

i'll enter iran on the 11th or 12th instead of the 10th. anyway it's no problem: my visa will begin on the day i enter iran.

chambre_mon_hotel_erzurum

ma chambre d'hôtel et mon visa!
regardez! j'ai même un balcon!
my hotel room and my visa!
look! i've even got a balcony!

chambre_jeff_erzurum

jeff's room
2 times more expensive wıth ro room to move...
but he has got toilet inside and...
a double bed, two pairs of tongs, two pairs of curtains and two windows
but no balcony! :p

so this morning i've been to the consulate again
and after waiting 'only' one hour and a half, i could get my visa!
but only for 21 days...
i wanted two months, they said to me i could only apply for one month, then they give me 3 weeks! this is asia! ;)

but anyway i was expecting that and i know i can get easily an extension in the biggest iranian cities.
i'll need to do this because i've decided to get my turkmen and ousbeks visas in tehran instead of istambul and it'll take me at least 1 month for the two of them.

that's all for today!
see you!
next message from tehran, iran i think!
